Frequently Asked Questions
Free Spirit Experience is an immersive therapeutic-growth program for teens and young adults. Our model blends therapy, experiential learning, real-life skill development and community living, allowing participants to practice independence in a structured and supportive environment.
We work with young people ages 14 to 24 who face challenges such as executive function gaps, anxiety, ADHD, low motivation, depression, social struggles or failure-to-launch patterns. Participants join us from all over the world, many of them from the United States, Canada and additional countries.
Our primary campus is on Kibbutz Hazorea in Israel. Depending on the program track, we also run experiential components in Italy and Cyprus for cultural exposure, independence practice and group process development.
Our method combines therapy, group work, structured routines, travel experiences, community responsibility and hands-on challenges. Participants learn through daily life, real decisions and supported practice rather than theoretical instruction.
Our project-based and experiential learning integrates emotional, physical, cognitive and community elements into one holistic process. It draws on a whole-person perspective that sees body, mind, emotions and spirit as interconnected, supported by evidence showing its effectiveness for challenges such as depression, social anxiety and trauma. We combine multiple therapeutic modalities and tailor them to each participant so the learning becomes personal, practical and meaningful.
This multidimensional method is not a collection of techniques but a set of pathways that help participants access their own inner capacity for healing and growth. The program we developed weaves together emotional, psychological, physical, spiritual and community components to help each participant find their way toward resilience and healthy functioning.
Projects may include woodworking, gardening, welding, cooking, multi-day hikes, sailing or horseback expeditions. Every project becomes a therapeutic journey, including preparation, the experience itself and the personal insights that follow.
Participants practice time management, planning, dealing with difficulty and failure, and processing success and achievement. Each project is facilitated by professionals and therapeutic staff who take part in the experience directly, guiding reflection and learning from within the process, not as outside observers.
Our mission is to empower young people to reconnect with their strengths, build independence, develop emotional stability and become confident members of their communities.
